    Instead of having the menu header a colour can i have a picture instead.

    not a full page picture just a thin normal menu header.

    Also is there any way (css code) to add email, phone number and social media links in the menu header (rather than switching on the social media header)

    Please try to add this code in the custom CSS:

    .x-navbar-inner {
    background: transparent url(LINK_OF_THE_IMAGE) no-repeat;
    background-size: cover;
}
