I wrote in the other day but my issue was taken care of before you were able to respond. I really do not know exactly what happened with my website using up enough of the CPU on a shared server that Host Gator varnished my site.
The problem is that nobody could really ever explain why or how I was using too many resources.
Of course they blame third party plug-ins first, and then they tell me that my theme isn’t functioning properly.
Trust me, I would be willing to bet that it isn’t X.

After hours and hours a tech comes back on the phone and tells me that he figured out my htaccess file had been changed. The last line was not spelled properly.
From what i gathered by him, this had to be done by someone. Weather it was a hack or a Host Gator tech messing around in there, it was changed.

Needless to say, the file is in working condition again.
The problem now is that I have no phpmailer class so users cant get their password sent to them, and new users cannot register.
I do have social login plugin, so at least they are still allowed to use their Twitter or Google accounts to sign in.

The phpmailer was showing up a bunch in the error log recently, and I know that there was recently discovered a vulnerability in phpmailer.
I want to just either reinstall the updated version of mailer, or whatever you recommend to get my site running smoothly again.

The error when a new user signs up says :
Warning: require_once(/home3/bbella/public_html/lennymelnickfantasysports.com/wp-includes/class-phpmailer.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home3/bbella/public_html/lennymelnickfantasysports.com/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/classes/class-bp-phpmailer.php on line 32

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home3/bbella/public_html/lennymelnickfantasysports.com/wp-includes/class-phpmailer.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/php54/lib/php’) in /home3/bbella/public_html/lennymelnickfantasysports.com/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/classes/class-bp-phpmailer.php on line 32

THe error that returns when one tries to retrieve lost password says:

Warning: require_once(/home3/bbella/public_html/lennymelnickfantasysports.com/wp-includes/class-phpmailer.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home3/bbella/public_html/lennymelnickfantasysports.com/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 213

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home3/bbella/public_html/lennymelnickfantasysports.com/wp-includes/class-phpmailer.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/php54/lib/php’) in /home3/bbella/public_html/lennymelnickfantasysports.com/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 213

    Hi there,

    Thanks for writing in.

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

    – Link to your site
    – WordPress Admin username / password
    – FTP credentials

Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

Hmm, that’s weird, all PHP mailer file are gone? That’s somewhat selective, all I could think of is security removed them for some reason.

    Thanks!
