Hi, I want Performance improvement on first page load

    https://community.theme.co/kb/performance/
some of this guide does not help with first page load.

    – how to minimize embedded JS and CSS?…. there is a lot in XTheme rendered pages, yuck!
    – how to convert Visual Composer pages to Cornerstone? (this will enable me to remove Visual Composer)

PageSpeed results for an internal page with no animations, no slider:
    https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.colorgearsports.com%2Fwhy-us%2F
    44/100
    46/100
This is not good at all, lets say – Horrible 🙁

    Note:
My server is fast. XTheme uses too many requests.
I want the first page load to be fast (this means browser Cache can be ignored here)
I want to completely switch off all animations.
I want to be able to tell XTheme to not load any CSS or JS that relates to animations.

I believe XTheme does not care bout performance.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi there,

X already serves the minified CSS and JS. If you need compression; you can use Gzip Compression as mentioned on the article. Also I can see the issue is mostly with your image for the desktop. So you should optimize your images. I don’t see any other issue related with X.

And you can’t convert a Visual Composer Page to Cornerstone as they are different page builders and works differently. You need to recreate the pages.

And certainly X care about performance most and we do the best practice to make the theme optimized but you need to care a bit as well when building a site. You can post in the X Theme Users Facebook group and you will get to know how thousands of users using X and building greatly optimized site.

    Hope this makes sense.

Hi, I have done a simple test for now; in Google Chrome I disabled images for that website,
opened developer tools, and reloaded the page with Network tab open and Disable Cache.
The page loads quickly, 2.7 seconds

So yeah, your suggestion is good. Images are causing the issue and, improving images will definitely result in better load times.
