I have noticed when I go to share or hover over links to my website, that the top image does not display in the thumbnail
How can I make sure it does

ok below is a social sharing tool. it takes the images from the page to go with the post. But I want the main photo to be shared. At the moment only the icons are available.
So what is happening when all of these programs are pulling up my website they are not picking up the main image. I want it to be available for discovery.

Thanks for updating. Are you using any plugin to achieve this? It sounds like you might be having an issue with a third party plugin or script. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.

No I am not using third party plug ins. This is general internet activity and x not providing an image when an image exists. This is probably something to do with the parrallex coding.
OK I think I have the answer. They are not seeing the image because it is coded as a background. To correct this I would need to insert the image into a borderless marginless section and I would not be able to have the parallax on it.

You’re correct. The image won’t show if it’s added as background. We can use Facebook debugger: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ for sharing issue. Simply enter your post/page URL and press Debug. It will fetch the latest information from the link and clear its stored cache for that page and it also shows you the error if there is one. In case you don’t want to insert an image, we can use a YOAST SEO plugin for better management. If you use this, you can turn off default Open Graph via Appearance > Customize > Social: Enable Open Graph:OFF
