Does parallax effect only work with a background image? What if you want to have text?

I’d like to have text pop in like this – http://zee.me/

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

You’re referring to fade effect, right?

You can enable ‘Fade effect’ option from column’s settings, see the attachment.

    Hope it helps.

Isn’t it the parallax effect? I’m trying to recreate the effect on this page, with the text – http://zee.me/

I tried enabling the fade effect and nothing happened.

Also the parallax effect only seems to work with background images.

    Hi There,

Yes Parallax is made to work with background images, parallax is that effect that you place an image that actually has more height than the band where it is placed as background and when you scroll down it seems like it moves, but actually its not moving just new parts of the same picture are appearing while other is hiding.

The second image has parallax here: http://helenjennifer.com/ to have a better effect you can adjust the padding top and bottom of your section, giving it more padding will make that section bigger and you give you a nicer effect.

What you are looking for is a fade effect that can be turned on on the column where your text element is placed.

If you tried to click on the magnifying lens of the column where the text is placed and turned on the fade it should work.

If that is not working for us please provide us the admin credentials of your website in a private reply.

The one given above just have a password but no user.

    Thanks

    Joao

    Hi there,

What’s here http://zee.me/ is both parallax and fade in effect. The parallax is applied to the background, while the fade in is for the text. And it uses a special widget to fade the content in, the site is not even running in WordPress.

But, the effect on that text is simply fade in. X has its own column fade in effect too. But that is just triggered once on the first scroll, the effect you wish to achieve is to fade in on every scroll over and over. If you wish to implement the exact effect, then you may use the same widget (I’m not sure which one) or get some developer that can implement custom coded effect.

    Thanks!

Yes I want to fade in the background. I’m just referring to the text block in reference to the general section, not the text itself.

The problem is, even when I apply a background image to the second section on my homepage where the text is, the parallax effect doesn’t work. How do I get it to work?

    Hi there,

The parallax is working fine in section #2 but since background image is all blue it’s hard to realize.
You can test it with another image like the one you added in first section.

    Hope it helps.

I want a parallax effect where the bottom portion appears to be gradually covering the top one as you scroll down.

On this website, the black part is moving up so as to cover the visual of the man.

    http://zee.me/

On this website, Brad’s reporter reel is flying up so as to gradually cover his face in the first image –

    http://bradstreicher.com/#brad

It should not be the reverse like what you see on my homepage.

What am I missing here? This parallax effect thing seems impossible to use.

This person describes an issue with his site and i wonder if my issue is similar to what he’s describing –

    https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/parallax-effect-fade-effect-broken-since-update-cornerstone/

Can we get to the bottom of the issue?

    Hi there,

Please enable parallax effect for section #1 and #2.
I created a new page called ‘X support’ to show you it’s working fine.

    Hope it helps.

Oh ok I figured out the problem. For some reason for the first section, whenever I add in the background image, it doesn’t show up. It stays blank. So I would throw an image element on top of it, which would prevent the parallax effect from working. But I just figured out that if you collapse the cornerstone sidebar, then the background image will show up and you can see the parallax effect in motion

Mmmm I think I might have had the column background turned to white so that’s why the image didn’t show up. Anyways, thanks!
