Hi…can I ask how responsiveness works with regard to page size. I am trying to minimise my server load.

As an example…I have post grids in my home page, and have to have separate versions for my mobile layout as cornerstone won’t allow the same grid to be used twice in a layout. When a user goes to the page are all versions of the layout loaded or just the one for the specific device?

    Many thanks,

    Chris.

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for writing in! If you use the content hiding feature and create different instance of content for mobile then they will load both keeping one hidden. So it’s not recommended for lot of sections but it’s okay if you just do it for one or two sections that’s quite tough to handle in term of responsiveness.

    Cheers!

Thanks….is there a way of setting theme x up to only serve the version that’s visible for the device?….would I need to set up different versions of the page that get served to specific devices? I guess this would be a subdomain for mobile?

    Thanks for the advice,

    Chris.

    Hi Chris,

That’s usually not possible in WordPress.

    Thanks!
