    Hi,

I changed the page structure on my webpage and now see 404 errors on some pages, but not on all. This happens on all tested browsers (Edge, IE, Chrome, Safari) and platforms (Windows 10, Mac, iOS 10.2).

In my view all pages follow the same structure, categorisation, slug principles etc. already changed the permalinks (standard, save, back to post name structure. WP, X theme and related plugins are in latest versions as of 28/12.

Please have a look, will send you my credentials in private post.

    Gunnar

    Hi there,

Please navigate to Settings/languages and change ‘URL change mode’ to ‘Query mode’. Clear cache and check if it fixes the issue.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi,

that didn’t help besides not being user friendly. I cleared the cache afterwards and used different browsers. Some pages work, some don’t, I don’t see any rule. I can access part of the pages in the search function, but cannot move directly to them (except in the wp-admin section). Maybe an issue with the .htmaccess file?

    Hi Gunnar,

It’s in conflict with wordpress default author url.

When you go to http://www.habitz.ch/wp/author/books/ – wordpress is trying to find user books which does not exist thus the 404.

You can try this thirdparty plugin to change wordpress default author slug

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/rename-author-slug/

or you can change the url of the page itself.

    Hope that helps
