proximomktgParticipantHello,
I have a client with a website that has a very outdated version of the X Theme. I am trying to revalidate it and update it, but don’t see anywhere at all that I can access the theme to enter the API or update the theme. WordPress isn’t even recognizing that it’s out of date. Please help me with some direction on how to correct this. Site login info is below.
Thanks!

JoaoModeratorHi There,
At this time you will need to perform a manual update. We do reccomend you backing up your website before performing this “big jump” update.
Please do the following :
1. Revoke your License from X Addons section (check the bottom of the page) and also remove it from your license page on Themeco.
https://community.theme.co/my-licenses/
2. Temporary disable any caching plugins and purge all your server cache.
3. Delete both X theme (/wp-content/themes/x) and Cornerstone plugin (/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone) by connecting to your FTP (your settings will be saved in the database)
4. Download the latest copy of X and upload it to your themes folder via FTP OR you can upload the x.zip via Appearance -> Themes section.
5. Latest version of Cornerstone will be installed automatically when you head over X Addons section. Now you try validating your X theme again and then try to install any other extension and it should function properly.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

proximomktgParticipantThanks for the info. The problem is I don’t see anywhere that allows me to revoke the license from the addons section. There is no addons section. I also don’t see it at the bottom of any pages. Can you be more specific please?

LelyModeratorHello There,
Your current version is 2.3.0 and Addons menu is added on later version which X 2.5.0. No need to worry about revoking license for now. Since this will be a major update for you, it is recommended to this on a staging set first. Please do visit our changelog here:http://theme.co/changelog/December 6, 2016 at 10:06 am #1283277
proximomktgParticipantThanks. My question is, if I am deleting the current xtheme, and installing a new one, won’t the site lose all of it’s css and other important elements?

JoaoModeratorHi,
No you won´t lose anything because your changes are stored on the database.
BUT this is an extremely big version jump, some expect things to get broken, so it is recommendable that before doing that you backup your website.
Once you have backed up + performed the update as instructed above, reach us out for any help you need.
Thanks
Joao
