andrem12ParticipantHello,
I have an issue with my navigation bar using one page navigation. When I use a full url path, for example http://www.example.com/#contact, for the menu items I want my website to scroll down to, the navigation items on my navigation bar all become highlighted.
I have outbound links and my whole site isn’t contained within one page, so using just the section ID wouldn’t work because if a user is on another page other than my home page, and they click on a menu item, I want my website to take them off the current page and back to the specific section on my home page.
I would like each menu item to be highlighted when you click on it, like on this page.
Attached are photos of what the problem looks like.
Additional Info:
URL: http://andremashraghi.com/
Wordpress Version: 4.5.2
X Version: 4.4.2
Cornerstone Version: 1.2.4May 22, 2016 at 8:53 pm #1004447
John EzraMemberHi there,
Thanks for writing in! You will need to change your links to get the link highlighting to work properly. To solve your issue with external/outbound links you will need to create two versions of the same menu. The menu to set as the primary menu will need to use full URLs (with the domain, example: http://andremashraghi.com/yourPage). Now the second menu is one that will use the one page navigation links (just the section IDs as the URL without the http:// example: #yourSectionID)
Then you will need to go into your page settings and look for One Page Navigation. There will be a dropdown to select your menu. Select your second menu (the one with just the IDs as links). What this does is loads the selected menu on the specific page, overriding the one set as primary menu for the entire site.
In cornerstone it is under Settings Tabs > X Settings > One page Navigation.
Hope this helps – thanks!
