snowdugParticipantHi Guys,
I had a look around but I just cant seem to grasp this one. What I am trying to achieve is one page navigation for one of my pages and the best way to do this. I had a read through this> https://community.theme.co/kb/how-to-setup-one-page-navigation/ but just didn’t seem to get it…sorry!
My page is http://104.131.175.181/winter/ and i would like to have each sub heading tour a link to another area on the page but I am not sure where to insert the or what ID#s exactly to insert.
Be great if you could help, all my versions should be latest.
Thanks a million.
Craigos.

RupokMemberHi Craigos,
Thanks for writing in! I think it’s already described thoroughly here – https://community.theme.co/kb/how-to-setup-one-page-navigation/
Not sure what you are facing to accomplish this as it’s pretty straightforward. You need to give the section an unique ID (say my-section) and use the the ID as URL for One page navigation (#my-section). That’s it.
Kindly follow the article carefully and let us know where you are facing trouble.
Cheers!

snowdugParticipantHi,
I’m just not quite getting it, sorry about that being a Dog Musher my web dev time is slightly handicapped. In any case I persevere.
So let me explain in detail: On the page from the top menu “Winter” I am attempting to have the dropdown link “Overnight Dogsled Tour” link to the section within the page which is of course the same Overnight Dogsled Tour near the bottom of the page, it is blueish grey in color. I have entered this in the section ID – <div id=”x-section-1″></div> then i went to the overnight Doglsed Tour page and changed the URL to – Permalink: http://104.131.175.181/x-section-1, I did input a # at the beginning of x-section-1 but when I entered this the # is not visible. Then when I click on the dropdown link for Overnight Doglsed Tours it just takes me to the page which I created not the section with the Winter page.
I am unsure how I create these shortcodes, which ones to create and where and how they should go, so I think I am missing a step or 3!!!. I did look at the Visual Composer shortcodes but was not sure which one I should create and what to do with it once created. I’m going to look up shortcode creation to try and get a grasp of that. I know this is not so difficult but I’m just struggling to get this process.
Thansk Guys.

snowdugParticipantSomething along the lines of how to generate and use the content band shortcodes required, I know this is not difficult but I just cant seem to ride this bike without stabilizers. 🙂

JoaoModeratorHi There,
Your website is looking great 🙂 Let´s try to solve your issue now, I really got confused trough your explanation.
First thing.
You need to setup two menus. Why is that? Because you have A One page navigation mixed with another pages on which you dont use one page navigation.
Your 2 menus will look exactly the same. the only difference is that on the Main menu ( the one you will use for every page except winter) You will add the sublinks of the Winter submenu as http://104.131.175.181/winter/#id-one , http://104.131.175.181/winter/#id-2 http://104.131.175.181/winter/#id-3 …and so on.
On the menu that you will select as a One page navigation menu by clicking Edit Page on your winter page and scolling down until you find the option. You will use just the hashtag links on the Winter Submenu #id-1 #id-2 #id-3
You can add any id new to your sections if you Add the name of the ID= id-1 the link will be #id-1 if you add ID name ID= snowman your link will be to #snowman
I hope that helps,
Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks
Joao
