Tony BParticipantPasswords on private pages are longer working. No idea why, but works fine on other sites with the same version of WordPress and different themes. WP is up-to-date so updated the theme and the site is now completely broken (using a child theme).
Suspect this has something to do with bundled plugins, so checking validation. Licence no longer seems to be validating, so signed into Envato to get 3 year old purchase code, seems to be allocated to another website (there isn’t one) so logged into https://community.theme.co/users/tb_marketing/licenses/ and added the correct URL. Back to website. Still says not validating and would I like to manage licences. Website in a mess. Stuck in an endless loop of pain.Any ideas?

Tony BParticipantMuch against my better judgement I’ve purchased another licence and guess what, that validation went straight through! Amazing. Site’s still f-ed tho.

Tony BParticipantAbandoned the child theme, and now mostly working, aside from the addition of some Chinese characters (!) and of course, the damn password protection not working, which was the problem in the first place. :/

Tony BParticipantMany thanks, and apologies for taking out my frustrations on you guys! I now know there’s a problem with the WordPress and Site URL details. We’ve got the site on one domain (.net), but want to be able to access it via another (.co.uk).
Having pointed the .co.uk domain to the server and set it up as an alias, we changed the WP details to show .co.uk instead of .net, the password pages, login and theme validation weren’t working correctly. Adding the second licence fixed the validation but not the login issue. Putting the Site URL details back to .net fixed the login but now the theme says it’s not validated again! So can you suggest how we proceed?
Thanks,
Tony

RadModeratorHi Tony,
Does that mean you’re trying to set up two domains for single WordPress installation? With that single setup, all data saved on that same instance (single database) along with validated data.
Example, you have validated it for .net, then you then go to .co.uk and validated it again with another license. And since it’s the same instance of WordPress, the data you validated on .net will be overwritten you did on .co.uk. And if you go back to .net and revalidate it, then it will overwrite what’s on .co.uk, and vice versa. It has same database, one single storage for license and can be affected by any action done between different domain.
That’s not currently possible. One validation is only applicable for one domain of single installation. But one validation can be applied for multi-site (WPMU) just as long as they are in the single project.
Thanks for understanding.
