thrivewithfionaParticipantHi, I have a few licenses already and never had a problem but upon installing, validating, when I try to Add on relevant plugins it is giving me the following message and has not installed Cornerstone:
Your WordPress file permissions do not allow plugins to be installed.
I have X on other sites linked to this directory and all file permissions are (as far as I’m concerned) good at 775 settings.
Site is a brand new WordPress install today.

RupokMemberHi Fiona,
Please try resetting your WordPress files and folders permissions. The correct settings can be found at http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2014/05/08/proper-wordpress-filesystem-permissions-ownerships/.
After resetting folders and files permissions, please keep all third party plugins disabled and try to install X addons plugins.
Also check the PHP version on your server and make sure it’s 5.6+ or higher.
Let us know how it goes.

thrivewithfionaParticipantHi, As far as I can see all is correct but I am very ‘beginner’ at this.Previously I have just loaded and all fine?
My permissions are set correctly as far as I can see (775).
I have reinstalled WordPress to see if that helped but did not.
There are only 2 plugins (Hello Dolly and Askimet) so I doubt it is that but I have deactivated both.
In terms of the PHP 5.6 or higher (I am not sure what this is?) however, as I have 3 other sites working with X theme on this server I think that it should be okay.
This is really holding me up now. I missed notification of your reply yesterday, apologies for not responding back.
I have given you the correct log in details, is there any way you can help?
Thanks Fiona

thrivewithfionaParticipantHi! PHO is higher than 5.6.
Can you let me know when something can be done?
Thanks Fiona

thrivewithfionaParticipantHi Thanks for responding. I am getting a bit worried though.
You have installed a plugin? I would like the theme installed as all my others? You say it is to do with the server but I have other X Theme sites on the same server at the same settings which load fine.
The problem isn’t fixed. I now have X theme with no Cornerstone and when I Activate the Add-ons (incl. Cornerstone from the error message at top – see pic) they don’t load into plugins page and basically go back to uninstalled?
Can you relook at this?
I will speak with my server about the above. It is a little above my head but I don’t understand why this site is different from the others that have loaded fine?
Thanks Fiona

DarshanaModeratorHi there,
It seems that your theme hasn’t installed properly due to the earlier issue. Now I have installed X theme for you which installed Cornerstone automatically and also I have tested your site by installing couple of extensions for you.
Let us know if you need further assistance.
Thanks!April 7, 2016 at 3:46 pm #871877
thrivewithfionaParticipantOkay, thank you! I was getting perplexed!
Is there any way I can avoid this in future?

DarshanaModeratorHi there,
Even though it is the same server, the configuration for each site may differ. Please contact your hosting provider and provide those information above. Remove the code added to the wp-config.php file and ask them to install a plugin through WordPress repository by searching a plugin name and they can see the issue.
Thanks!

connorfoleyParticipantHello,
I am new to X Theme and have just installed everything into WordPress and began building my site. I’ve tried installing plugins, however I am having this same problem. I can’t seem to figure it out and I’ve reset all of my settings according to the article. What should I do?

RadModerator@Connor, Would you mind starting a new thread and provide your admin and FTP login credentials in private reply? I could check it too.
@Fiona, permission is just one of the possible problems, there is file ownership issue too and that something you should forward to your hosting provider. For example, you have files with correct permission, but it belongs to different owner ( https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/4/html/Step_by_Step_Guide/s1-navigating-ownership.html ), then that means it can’t be activated or execute by current owner/group.
Thanks!
