Tabs and accordions are two of the primary ways of organizing lots of information on a page. But tabs can only fit four (maybe five) sections of information on desktop and then they format oddly on mobile. Be it desktop or mobile, accordions are the one option we have to organize lots of information and have it work the same on both.

Reading through the other nested accordion requests over the past few years—the position you’ve taken is that it’s unsupported by your developers and therefore requires custom development. However, I’m a bit confused by this stance as nested accordions appear to be almost fully functional out-of-the-box. The only issue I’m running into is the parent accordion item expanding the nested accordions when it’s opened rather than allowing them to remain collapsed.

There may be use cases I’m not considering, but with the collapse/expand state corrected—it would seem to me that the core functionality of nested accordions could be considered fully functional. For this reason, I don’t understand why it’s not instead considered a bug fix.

With all the great stuff you’ve created, I can’t imagine that nested accordions are something that your developers are unable overcome. I don’t know how complex of an issue this is within X, but the following links are examples of how nested accordion functionality can seemingly be accomplished:

    Hi there,

We certainly appreciate the feedback and thanks for providing specific inputs! This is something we can add to our list of feature requests. This way it can be taken into consideration for future development. All of these items are discussed with our team internally and prioritized based on the amount of interest a particular feature might receive. Thanks!
