mgmaParticipantHi guys-
Need help getting a self hosted video to open in a lightbox using a thumbnail to trigger it. When I do get it to work, it opens with NO close button (and will not close any other way)… unlike when I use a button.
I’ve scoured the forums… can;t get it. Help!!
Thanks

mgmaParticipantI’m not… I can’t get it to work.
I have it working on the home page…
http://a17.d57.myftpupload.com/
(“Watch Now” button)
it needs to be just like that only I want to use an image to click/launch the video instead of a button.

mgmaParticipantPlease help. I’m supposed to go live with a site tonight… and have been using buttons. But I now have to use an image instead to launch the video lighbox. I am using the renew stack.
Have read so many posts here, nothing is working for me.
Thanks

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for the updates! Please use this shortcode format instead:
[image class="my-video" src="http://example.com/image.jpg" alt="Example" type="thumbnail" link="true" href="http://example.com/image.jpg" title="Example Image"] [lightbox selector=".my-video" deeplink="true" opacity="0.875" prev_scale="0.75" prev_opacity="0.75" next_scale="0.75" next_opacity="0.75" orientation="horizontal" thumbnails="true"]For further information on how you can implement the responsive lightbox, please check out this link:
Hope this helps.

mgmaParticipantThanks guys, but I have to admit… I’m disappointed. I’ve now spent hours trying to get a basic video to load and play in a lightbox… and no luck. After really liking the rest of this platform it is a disappointment.
You keep referring to this page as reference… responsive lightbox… but there is nothing about video on that page at all.
It’s a big hole left in an otherwise successful project.

Paul RModeratorHi,
Please add this in a raw content element in your page.
[image lightbox_video="true" class="my-video" src="https://cyber-edge.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/logo-new-2.png" alt="Example" type="thumbnail" link="true" href="http://bigidea.pro/cyberedge/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CyberEdge-Explainer-Video.mp4" title="CyberEdge Video"] [lightbox selector=".my-video" deeplink="true" opacity="0.875" prev_scale="0.75" prev_opacity="0.75" next_scale="0.75" next_opacity="0.75" orientation="horizontal" thumbnails="true"]Change https://cyber-edge.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/logo-new-2.png with the url of your image
and change http://bigidea.pro/cyberedge/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CyberEdge-Explainer-Video.mp4 with the url of your video.
If that doesn’t help, please provide us the url of the page where you have added the code that we have provided.
Thanks
