    I have had problems since I bought the x theme, so anything along the path to here could have caused the problem. I first noticed that the theme had been combined with a page from a video on youtube.
    I got the backup from my hosting service to restore the site.
    Then I installed a child to the theme and now it looks nice, but I can’t activate the shortcode plugin. So something is still wrong. I’m sure shortcode is central ti x-theme

    Is it something simple to fix? Do what?

    Should I start over? If yes, how?

    I have made a backup of the entire site as of a few minutes ago.

    Hello There,

    Thanks for writing in! I have check your site and all is seems perfectly normal. You cannot update Visual Composer because you do no have it registered. We are the ones who will provide automatic updates for Visual composer and also for other bundled plugins. At the moment, the latest supported version is what you have installed which is 4.11.2.1. You can check the latest compatible version from here: https://community.theme.co/kb/version-compatibility/

    May I know which shortcode plugin you want to install? Are you referring to the old X Shortcodes plugin? Please take note that X shortcodes and its functionality has been consolidated into Cornerstone which you can install by going to X Addons > Extensions. And it is already installed in your site.

    I have a problem keeping up with where the documentation is. I wouldn’t have these “problems” if i knew that shortcode was included in Cornerstone, or that visual composer can’t be updated.

    I was trying to activate shortcode 2.4.0. Is that the one built into cornerstone?

    Is this kind of info in the long video on Cornerstone? I’ll watch it next.
