crankoParticipantHi,
I’m using multisite and I read in the forum that we couldn’t proceed the update automatically and we have to do that by either deleting the current theme and replacing the new one.
I have a question, if let say I have custom CSS planted on my main site, do I have to write it again after the manual theme update?

Rue NelModeratorHey Cranko,
Thanks for writing in! If you overwrite the X files using ftp, there is no way your custom css will get overwritten. It will stay there because it is saved in the database. When you do manual updates, you are only deleting and re uploading the X theme files and that’s it. No other data will be removed, deleted or will be gone.
Just always remember that if you are using CloudFlare or may have installed a caching plugin like WordFence, W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache, always remember to clear all caches when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.
Hope this explains it briefly.
