    Hey,

I saw this reply for MU licensing:

    “Thanks for writing in.

One license can be applied in multisite installation as long the other sub site/domain is the same entity as where license is assigned to. In which it promote the same and single site.

In your case, you would need to purchase a unique license for each client as a license is for a single use for one entity and no parts of the one license can be shared or resold or re-used by another party or client.

    Thanks!”

    However, in another response:

“or example http://www.yourdomain.com/region1 to http://www.yourdomain.com/region7 will work, however region1.yourdomain.com will not work and will require separate licenses for each if you are doing separate installs.”

I’m planning to create 1 site, using subdomains for language localisations (i.e, cn.abc.com, ph.abc.com, etc), so, based on the 1st answer, because it’s still 1 entity, I’ll only require 1 license yes?

    Thanks

    Hey there,

Theoretically yes, you don’t need another license. But technically, sub-domain setup is not supported as people can setup different sites using it. Please use the sub-folder setup like domain.com/ph

    Thanks.

I see. I actually don’t mind, but I’ve decided that it’s as a domain name, for 1 to be remembered, easier to type, etc, it’s better to be:

    cn.tgb.asia
    my.tgb.asia

    than

    tgb.asia/cn
    tgb.asia/my

Though, from what I understand, I could set it up in the folder format but map each folder to a subdomain?

Appreciate your patience, still new to the whole MU thing

    Hello There,

Thanks for updating in! Multi installations will need more than one license if they are different unique websites. Only if it’s one website that shares content / links and everything else then one license will be sufficient. If you link several top level domains to another domain that’s no problem at all as long as they are all linking to the same installation.

Let us know if you need anything else.
