ashikaiParticipantHello Themeco!
So I understand that if xtheme is used on a multisite installation that all belongs to one company/organization (a website that splits itself into smaller parts in order to stay organized etc) then one license is fine. Otherwise a new license is required for each new site.
My scenario is this: I’m building a multisite in which users can create a new site to host their stories on, however all the sites use the same theme (a child of xtheme ethos) My sub sites are both “new sites run by other parties” but also an “extension of the main site.” It’s all one company but with user generated content that uses sub-sites as a means of organization.
The reason for splitting it up into a multisite installation is so users can post their own content and make minor cosmetic adjustments to their site (swapping out banner images, changing preset theme colors, etc) but nothing that changes the layout or actual branding of the site as a whole. The whole thing is essentially one company site, just with user generated content that’s using the wordpress backend as the uploading/management interface. No one’s creating a web page for their new business or anything like that on it.
So my question is, in this scenario, am I ok with a single copy of Xtheme? Or do I need a new license for each sub site? (There shouldn’t be a domain issue since I have it set up as site.com/mystoy instead of mystory.site.com)
I know it’s a bit confusing, so if I can clarify anything in order to pin down what kind of license terms this falls under, please let me know!
Thank you!

RadModeratorHi there,
Thanks for writing in.
If it’s same project/domain with just sub content then a single license is still okay. It needs new license if the subsite is a different site, or promote different project than the main site.
Thanks!
