    Hello,

We wish to create a multisite environment where we can quickly clone one working sute-site into a new wildcard subdomain subsite.

We have (for example) http://www.websitename.com = our main parent X theme website

We want to be able to create:

    sub1.websitename.com (child theme)
    sub2.websitename.com (cloned child theme)
    sub3.websitename.com (cloned child theme)
    and so on…

We want to do this by using wildcard subdomain with our host, and the multisite function within WP.

IN ADDITION, we want to be able to clone the entire sub1 (child theme, content, everything) into sub2… and then into sub3… etc…

In other words, every time we create a new subsite, we want to clone the previous subsite into the new one. So questions:

    1. Do we need to buy a new license for each new subdomain multisite?

    2. What is the best plugin to clone one subsite into another? Do you recommend a clone plugin, or the All in One WP Migration?

    Thanks for any information.

    Hello There,

    Thanks for writing in!

1] If you are using a multisite with sub domain, as long as the main site (main parent site) is using X, you only need to validate the main site because all of the updates will come from the parent site. If your sub site is a separate installation, then you will need a different license since we only allow one license per installation. Please also take note that in one license, you can validate two sites and that is one for the production site and the development/ staging site.

2] You may use a 3rd plugin that will handle the cloning of one site. You might be interested this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=clone

    Hope this helps.
