    Hi There,

I have been going over the forums for 1-2 days now and haven’t been able to improve my sites mobile page speed (61/100) with “Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content” being the only main issue.

I have fixed as much as possible using this: https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/optimisation-guide-for-x-themers-definitive-guide/

and it has worked quite well, except for render-blocking Javascript and CSS issue. I’m not sure anything can be done to fix it, but any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance,

    Hi Christopher,

Thanks for the reply. I’ve been through that article already too and it did help with a few things, but it doesn’t touch on above-the-fold content for mobile. My mobile page speed is hurt quite a bit by this.

Let me know if you have any other ideas.
    Thanks,
    Spencer

    Hi there,

Render Blocking is quite tricky to fix, as you can see, the resources or scripts mentioned are not from your site. And given that WordPress is modular (where themes and plugins are from the different plugin), then it will be harder to control. You can’t tell them that do it this way.

To solve the render blocking, all resources and scripts should be loaded in the footer. Example, the Autoptimize can minify and combine all files and place them in the footer.

Though I’m not really sure about external URLs, you can’t combine them or control.

    Thanks!

    Hi Rad,

Thanks for your help. I went along with what you said and I have fixed the other plugins that were giving the issue. Now there is only one left, but I can’t figure out what it is coming from, plugin or theme:

Let me know if you have any insight.
    Thanks!

That doesn’t come from X. You might want to contact our trusted partners who caters X setup and customization needs. Please see https://community.theme.co/custom-development/

    Thanks.

I will take a look thanks. I can’t see it being anything other than X as the cause considering my setup, but I’ll trust your judgement until I get a definitive answer.

I will uninstall the rest of my plugins so that only X is running and see if this still shows up. If it doesn’t then we know it is something else and I can go one by one until I find the cause.

    Thanks
