Every time I update the theme, this file ends up missing, and I had manually re-create the directory and load from a back up.

And this happens some 24 hours after the update, not immediately.

What is going on?

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

Did you edit the theme files before? Kindly install a fresh copy by downloading the installable theme from themeforest or here – https://community.theme.co/dashboard/

You are using an old or legacy child theme. You’ll need to add the code below in your functions.php

// Enqueue Parent Stylesheet
// =============================================================================

add_filter( 'x_enqueue_parent_stylesheet', '__return_true' );
