edwinyoyoParticipantHi there,
I understand that there has been plenty of posts on this topic. I found this link:
https://community.theme.co/kb/cornerstone-migration/My question is the following:
I currently set up x theme on my private host with private website to test the product. The license is activated.
I really like how it looks and I would like to revamp my department student organization site. I am wondering when the time comes, how do I transfer everything I have been working privately to the department host/site? The site is a wordpress product. Obviously, I would like to transfer my license over and I hope to be reimbursed by the department.
Also, I have also heard from my Udemy coach to make sure everything is set up in a child theme. I couldnt find the option right off, hence I activated the X theme and work therein instead of X child.
Please let me know what to do. Thanks much in advance.

RadModeratorHi there,
Thanks for writing in.
Yes, you should do all customization on the child theme (eg. custom code and templates). It is a theme and there is no option for that. Please check this https://community.theme.co/kb/how-to-setup-child-themes/
About the migration, you can use All in one migration plugin or Blog Vault service.
Let’s say you prefer to use All in one migration plugin.
1. Install that plugin from your SOURCE site (your original copy).
2. Export your SOURCE site and download it using the migration plugin.
3. Install a fresh copy of WordPress and migration plugin to the DESTINATION site.
4. Import your downloaded file from your SOURCE to DESTINATION site. Then that process will setup everything 🙂
As for license transfer, you can start a new thread for the request. But reimbursement is only between you and your department.
Hope this helps.
