    I have added background color to the REQUEST SERVICE menu item but it’s not working. Any idea why?

    #menu-item-4074 a {background-color: #D31145; color: #ffffff;}

    Your code is correct and it should work.

    Please make sure you have the correct ID Number and check for previous broken CSS codes.
