    Greetings,

I just updated my X Theme to 4.5.0.

    Site: http://fvfs.org.au

My menu no longer displays the next level down.

For instance, when placing mouse over “About”, there should be a pop-out that says: “What is the FVFS? Meet the team. Welcome.”

Also at the bottom of the page it now has an error message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘Tags’ (T_STRING) in /home/prodos/public_html/fvfs.org.au/wp-content/themes/x/framework/views/renew/_content-post-footer.php on line 13

… and the footer has disappeared.

Your advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Best Wishes,

Wondering whether it’s possible to go back to the earlier version.

    Can that be done?

If so, could someone point me to information on how to do that?

    Thanks.

    Best Wishes,

    Prodos

Hmm … I see further issues.

All the content at: http://fvfs.org.au/film-festivals/ has disappeared.

As for the parse error, there’s already a post in this forum. Please see https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/updated-to-4-5-now-parse-error-syntax-error-unexpected-tags-t_string/#post-1020353 for a solution.

For people having issues with “all content disappeared”: this is caused by aforementioned syntax error. Since the syntax error happens before the JavaScript loaded in the footer is called and processed, a lot of JS is missing and thus content not showing up. See my previous post for a solution.

If you open Developer Tools (different name depending on your browser) (F12), you may see an error like this one:

Uncaught TypeError: c.hoverIntent is not a function

This is an indicator for the syntax error problem.

Similar issues since updating – second level navigation non-functional, footer gone, sidebars gone, and revolution slider non-functional.

    Hi guys,

Thanks for chime in. Whoever still facing any issue, kindly provide your WordPress and FTP credentials in a private reply on your own post. It won’t be a good idea to use other user’s thread to post any private reply.

Also always make sure to backup your full site before performing any update and clear your browser’s cache before checking after update.

    Cheers!

    There’s an X Theme 4.5.1?

Well, if there wasn’t, there is now! 🙂

    Much appreciated. Thanks very much.
