inquestdigitalParticipantI have set up a site for a client using the latest X Theme (renew stack) and some of my coworkers whom are using laptops with touchscreen capabilities are having trouble with the menu as well as the responsive lightbox. Fortunately for us the website has gone live and the client hasn’t noticed this, but also we don’t want this to drive customers away thinking the website is broken in the event they also have a touchscreen laptop and can’t navigate the website. The problem with the lightbox seems to be mainly on Chrome, Firefox seems to be displaying them properly, at least from my testing. The menu doesn’t work on hover events on both Chrome and Firefox. I have yet to test it on IE 11 as well as Edge on their systems. The operating systems range from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Any help with this would be great. Thank you.

RadModeratorHi there,
Lightbox and other features aren’t fully compatible with hybrid devices. There are features that only meant for the desktop, and of course for mobile. And because your laptop is both desktop and mobile (touch), then some feature has a hard time running due to conflict. The touch feature is the one of being detected if it’s mobile or not, then goes the resolution. And a hybrid device has both of this.
We’re still looking into but unluckily, we don’t have any concrete solution yet. There is no way to tell when a hybrid device behaves as desktop or mobile to selectively load features.
All I could recommend for now is disable touch feature on your laptop.
Thanks!

LelyModeratorHello There,
Unfortunately, there is no certain way to detect a touchscreen. We can use the presence of touch events to determine the device is likely mobile (as this is where touch really took off), but there’s really no way to distinguish between an iPhone, Android tablet, or a hybrid Windows machine yet. Rest assured that we are still looking into this to provide better fallback. We will let you know once we have an update. Thank you for understanding.

inquestdigitalParticipantWell thank you for your help. I read that same article a while back. Just thought in 3 years I thought maybe something would have been figured out. Is there any chance that the navigation can be taken over via css instead of jquery or js. At least the hover event? Not to worried about the lightbox at this point. Thanks.
