MatthieuParticipantHi there !
I just set up a basic landing page with revolution slider.
You can have a look at it at this url : http://www.canopee-innovation.comI did a quick test with GTMetrix to check the overall speed of my site. It has great performance scores with A and B thanks to the X framework.
However, it is 1,56mb and it may take some time to charge depending on the quality of one’s internet connexion.
I have theme.co hosting and assume that the CDN features will do a great job to speed things up as much as it could be.
Would you have advices to optimize things even more ?
Thank you for your help !

MatthieuParticipantThank you for your answer.
Before that long reading, can you confirm that you took into account the fact that I’m a Theme.co Hosting solution user ?
I thought these caching techniques were of no relevance when using your own solution.May 26, 2016 at 12:03 pm #1011415
RubinKeymasterHey There,
Rubin here, lead of Themeco hosting.
We are still working on implementing CDN for our hosting but it will come very soon as a free upgrade for all our existing customers. Our Themeco Caching is more efficient than using any other caching plugin but you’re trying to achieve a high GTmetrix score which has nothing to do with page speed. GTmetrix and any other “page speed engine” is checking against a fixed set if criteria which has no impact on the actual performance, the only two values you should (and google) cares about is the actual site speed and page size. Page speed gets increased by decreasing the size of your site, the rest is handled by us. We compress and cache your content for the quickest delivery possible, the only thing left on your side to do which is outlined in the performance section is minimizing image size as well as generally looking for a small footprint.

MatthieuParticipantHey Rubin,
Thank you for all these clarifying informations.
GTMetrix will therefore be used only to monitor page size starting from now… 🙂
I will do my best to upload the best compacted images possible as it seems to be the most important point here.
The second point, though, is intriguing for me : what would you mean by “generally looking for a small footprint”
Best regards.

RahulModeratorHey Matthieu,
By “generally looking for a small footprint”, we mean usage of plugins which uses less resources, files, less javascript etc.
Hope that helps.

MatthieuParticipantThat makes sense 🙂
For this website, I’ll only use those you provide as part of the X package.
I guess, their optimization has been well taken care of.
Less resources means low number of requests, right ? My gtmetrix score is 34 requests right now.May 27, 2016 at 2:40 am #1012568
Rue NelModeratorYes you are correct.
Less resources would mean faster loading.May 27, 2016 at 7:27 am #1012852
MatthieuParticipantThank all you four for these answers !
