capodannoParticipantI have a site, dogwriters.org, that is running X and is hosted using Go Daddy’s Managed WordPress. We are consistently having problems with auto updates. Each time an update to WordPress happens, the site is broken down and unusable. The Buddypress plugin seems to be the source of most of these issues.
I notice your X Hosting also has an auto updating feature, so I suspect you are having the same issues in your hosting environment also.
I’m currently running Buddypress version 2.1.3. While I could update that to your supported version of 2.3.3, I’m hearing that even the most up to date (but unsupported) 2.7.4 is having problems with WordPress 4.7.1
What should I do, to get my clients in a hosting environment that isn’t so unreliable?
I’m thinking I should move them out of an auto-updating environment, like a Cpanel hosting plan, and turn off any auto-updates. The potential security risks of a non-updating site seem less likely to take the site down than these auto updates taking the site down on a regular basis.
What’s your advice?

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for writing in! We are not having such issue on our managed hosting environment. Make sure to use the latest and stable version of everything. You can find the latest version numbers here: (http://theme.co/changelog/) Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site.
Cheers!
