markwestParticipantHi,
I’m trying to setup a mailchimp subscribe form on my site. I have the API all sorted and have pulled through the newsletter list – so that’s all working.
But, when I enter details in to the signup form I get an error –
We’re sorry! Something went wrong. We were unable to add your email to the list. Please try again later. When I check in mailchimp I can see an API error (250)List_MergeFieldRequired and if I hover over the error it tells me FIRSTNAME is required.
I’ve attached a couple of images and login details for the site in the following private reply.
I would be grateful if someone could take a look and help me understand why it’s not working – or how to map the ‘First Name’ field on the form to ‘FIRSTNAME’ that Mailchimp is looking for?
Thanks very much
Mark

markwestParticipantHi Lely,
Thank you for referencing those articles.
I have changed the mailchimp merge field names as specified to FNAME and LNAME – although it would be super-helpful if this was made obvious in the add-on.
Now, I get the success message –
Thank you! You are now subscribed to The Wellbeing Clinic Newsletter. But, the email address doesn’t seem to be added to the specified mailchimp list – in fact they don’t seem be added to any of the lists.
I’d be happy to provide mailchimp login details if you think it will help get this issue sorted out.
Thanks
Mark

markwestParticipantHi Thai,
Thank you for your help. I had forgotten about the need for the user to confirm.
Please could submit a request for the documentation, or details with the add-on to specify the labels required with mailchimp? It is not obvious and I see other people have run in to the same issue – which could be avoided if the add-on listed the merge tags required for each field.
Thanks again.
Mark
