The look and feel of my site changed overnight (www.morphis-insights.com). I didn’t make any changes to the Appearance. You’ll see jet black heading colors today that were dark gray yesterday. How is that possible?

All the colors in the Customizer are showing as RGB values not hex. Maybe the update I did to X a few days ago changed that? How do I go back to hex color numbers? I’m bothered that this has happened without intervention on my part.

Thanks for writing in!

Clear your Cache by using Caching plugins. It’s always recommended that, you should clear your Cache after making any update to the theme. You can use following plugins to do so :

Thanks for providing the information. Please keep in mind that when we released X 4.3.1, we have announced that we have a new color picker, Huebert. Huebert is our answer to the numerous woes we have heard from our users about the current WordPress color picker not supporting alpha transparency. In an effort to have more control over our controls, we set out to develop a color picker from scratch that would not only support these modern color formats, but also make selecting that perfect color as easy as possible. You can only get back to hex values if you revert all your changes back prior to your update. You have a site backup in your hosting. Your provider could help and assist you if you wish to have the old version back.

OK, understand. However, I decided to import the .json file with my settings from mid last week, just to see if I could get back to the original colors without having to change them one by one. Again, the whole layout has broken. Totally broken. How can this be so unstable?

All of the settings in Customizer were changed from a .json file I knew was good. I tried to use an older .json file, same thing. On another website I’m still recovering from an X upgrade gone bad. I’m now scared to upgrade. I haven’t recovered on this one yet but what am I doing wrong. Simple upgrades shouldn’t lead to this much chaos.

I’ve got this site back but I’m not happy. Content Dock had gone too. Google Analytics add-on. Both had to be reactivated. This is way too much work for a simple upgrade.

Thank you for the updates! I would recommend that you create a staging site. This is very useful because you can test drive any X updates in the staging area, do the customizations and troubleshooting without disrupting your live site.
