bambooinnParticipantHello X,
I just delivered the website to a client last week, and the client said the layersliders are showing ‘dark’ (blank) pictures.
I checked and think it i has to do that layerslider got updated (somehow) to 6, with the message Welcome to LayerSlider WP 6.
Now all the layersliders are not working anymore, and there is a big exclamation mark telling me to activate.
While I understand we do not have to activate any of the plugins, this is quite a nuisance to the ‘not-knowing’ customer. Questions
1) How could this happen (like, how can this be updated through the normal plugin/update process)
2) Why is it possible that Layerslider stops functioning if the update happens?
3) Can you help by solving this? (I will provide the login codes)
4) Can you perhaps reply with the steps one needs to take to ‘reinstall’ the layerslider with the Theme X activated version? (in such a way that we don’t loose the layerslider data, that’s why I didn’t want to do it myself now!)
Thanks!

JadeModeratorHi there,
The current version of Layer Slider that is supported by X is 6.0.0. The update you are seeing at the moment is an update on the vendor side. We have yet to release the latest version of Layer Slider and we still need to do some testing for it. You may check our changelog to keep track of the new release of our extensions update.

bambooinnParticipantHi Jade,
Could you please also help me how to re-enable Layer Slider… it is not functioning anymore, because it asked to be activated!

RupokMemberHi there,
I can see some JS errors that seems coming from your custom scripts – http://prntscr.com/d5t01c
Let’s check and fix them first.
Thanks!

bambooinnParticipantHello,
Ok… let’s fix them!

1) error in Google Chrome console: http://prnt.sc/d5uns12) line 205 and 206 seems to be Theme X/layerslide related?
http://prnt.sc/d5uo1cThis seems not be code that I inserted, but gets automatically inserted when adding Layer Slide in the > PAGE > Edit page sections?

bambooinnParticipantHello X,
p.s. I do not see the same errors as Rupok (using Mac with Safari & Chrome).
There seems to be an error with Layerslider, using the the standard way of enabling/using it:
1) create layer slider
2) go to page settings/edit> select slider in above/under masthead and it output the above errors. The site worked upon delivery last week (and all the month I was creating it), I suspect something broke by an update of Layerslider to v6.No issues when selecting Revolution slider. So I migrated all to the slides to rev slider, which is not ideal, but it seems that support is not really forth coming this time.
Thanks for replying.

RadModeratorHi there,
Thanks for posting in.
Before we continue, make sure that your PHP version is upgraded to 5.6, its current version is 5.3.3 which is old. WordPress and other latest plugins now require 5.6.
I checked the Layer Slider and there is an internal error, could be related to PHP version or something else. Would you mind providing your FTP login credentials as well?
Thanks!
