    Hello there,

    I have the version 5.6.8 installed and there is an alert for an update to version 5.6.9 but it is asking me for a purchase code even though the slider came with theme x.

    Please advise, I don’t want to use an outdated product.

    Hello There,

    Thanks for writing in!

    Please note that the current compatible version of layerslider is 5.6.8. Layer Slider is Integrated Plugin that comes bundled with each and every copy of X. You don’t need to activate them to use with X and there is no license key provided for integrated plugins.

    Does this mean that all of these plugins, that are bundled with Theme X will essentially become outdated since being compatible with Theme X does not actually make them the latest release? Will the plugins be updated at the next Theme X update?

At Themeco we will continue to update the products as updates are made available plus provide support for them in our forums.”

    When will LayerSlider be updated to it’s most recent version?

    Hi there,

    If you will compare the version from us and from the plugin author, it will be outdated. But, it doesn’t mean it’s incompatible. On some case, we retain the version that is more compatible with X theme, but we can update them when needed.

    As of now, there is no news about it but I’ll forward your concern.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for writing in! LayerSlider has just been updated in the latest release. 🙂

    We always update extensions in our releases to their latest versions. If an extension has a important fix available before we plan a release, that extension will be released on an automatic update independent of our own updated X release. Currently we don’t have a mechanism in place to release add-ons of extensions bundled though this is something we are considering for the future.
