WPH2oParticipantHello,
I use Jetpack on all sites.
I use the Jetpack CS editor on all sites.
Dashboard > Appearance > Edit CSS
…in the past this always opened a FULL SCREEN CSS editor.
Now when I go to the Jetpack CSS editor X steals the link and re-directs me to the TINY, USELESS NON-Editor, mini-screen, Customizer which is only about one and a half inches wide.
USELESS.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give USERS USERS USERS back control of where USERS want to edit CSS.
How can I get back the FULL WIDTH, FULL SCREEN Jetpack CSS Editor?
Or could X at least give USERS a link to pop the hijacked editor to be full screen, the way so many other X elements are?
This is killing me.
Now I need to open Notepad++ and go back and forth copy and pasting all day.

khomikoParticipantI’m not a fan of how it hijacks your browser’s search function, but you can expand their css editor with the arrow in the top right of it’s window.

Paul RModeratorHi,
Thanks for writing in! It sounds like you might be having an issue with a third party plugin(Jetpack). Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.
Thank you for your understanding.

WPH2oParticipantIf this is a conflict issue then it is an X Theme created conflict.
Before the last Update, JetPack always allowed a Custom CSS editor.
Now X has stolen the link from Jetpack.
Install Jetpack on any other theme.
Then go to Dashboard > Appearance > Edit CSS.
THAT USED TO ALWAYS OPEN THE JETPACK CSS EDITOR.
NOW THAT LINK IS TAKEN OVER BY X THEME AND REDIRECTS AWAY FROM THE JETPACK CSS EDITOR TO THE X CSS CUSTOMIZER.
Now, when I hover over the JETPACK CSS EDITOR LINK it shows this URL in the browser footer:
…/wp-admin/themes.php?page=editcss-customizer-redirect
ANYBODY SEE THAT LAST PART: “customizer-redirect.”
I’m sorry, but your plugin conflict answer is BS.
Isn’t there any resolution for a theme that steals a link?
Especially from Jetpack?

WPH2oParticipantThere is no expander arrow in the top right of the new X Theme CSS Editor hijack.
Screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/O0La1f8QlJ
Almost all other X Theme editing screens have that arrow that expands the editor to full screen.
The X Theme Jetpack hijacked CSS Editor does not allow the editor to be expanded.
This is crap. This is a horrible change that X did to paying users.
I pay for multiple licenses for X Theme.
It should work for the users not the developers.

Prasant RaiModeratorHello Chris,
Thanks for writing in!
With current version of WordPress 4.7, core team at Automattic has migrated the CSS function of Jetpack to Customizer. So now when you click on Appearance > Edit CSS it will automatically redirect you to Customizer CSS edit screen. This has nothing to do with X Theme, it’s a modification made by the WordPress core developers not by Themeco. To illustrate the point i made a screencast. Here you can see that the currently i have activated 2016 Theme and if i click on Edit CSS it redirects me to the Customizer CSS editor page.

With regards to editor not expanding, this is also one of the changes that core WordPress developers have made. Since it’s becoming quite inconvenient for lot of users Jetpack and core WordPress developers may consider bringing it back provided there is sufficient demand for the same and for that they have opened a new Github issue in order to take community feedback:
https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/5828
There is a discussion going on at WordPress community forums with regards to the changes into WordPress and Jetpack and you can chime in there to share your views:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/the-evil-mutilation-of-jetpack-custom-css/
Please note that Themeco works in accordance with the standards laid out by WordPress and will never ever make such changes that causes inconvenience to our users.
Thanks.
