    Hi

    I have just purchased a second license and installed the theme to my site: http://hotel.bluechipstrategies.com.jm (development)

    I am unable to update the theme from version 4.0.7 to the latest version or even to validate. When I try to update from ‘dashboard’ in WP I get the following error:

    An error occurred while updating X: X is not validated. Validate X to enable automatic updates

    I have read the KB article provided in other threads but instructions are not applicable to my situation (don’t see those screens mentioned)

    Please assist.

    Hi There,

    Thanks for writing in and sorry you’re having this issue. Previous version of X|Theme on latest WordPress (v4.5.x) has an issue with automatic update. Please do the manual update for now, you can follow the guide provided here.

    Let us know how it goes.

    Hi

    I did a manual update of the latest X version via FTP using the instructions from the link.
    However, when I install the child theme via WP dashboard it gives the error “parent theme not found”

    Hi There,

    Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

    – Link to your site
    – WordPress Admin username / password
    – FTP credentials

    Hi there,

    Thanks for updating. You have placed the theme folder x within another folder x. So it’s within /wp-content/themes/x/x/ but it should be /wp-content/themes/x/ . And that’s why it’s not being recognized by the Child Theme.

    Let’s remove the extra parent folder by transferring the files one step above or placing the x folder again.

    Hope this makes sense.

    Yes, I see it. The issue has been fixed and the child theme is now active.
