Hey Guys, I have an issue with my video I have using The revolution slider. Below are links to the two pages in question. Both sites have the latest WordPress, Xtheme, etc.

The backcountry warriors video loads after a few seconds. It is roughly 5 meg and the background stays transparent right up until the video starts to play. On the Valley Mountain Services site the video is the same size or smaller, takes FOREVER to load and has a black background that I for the life of me cannot get rid of. Both videos on the sites as far as I can see have the exact same settings but I cannot figure out how to get rid of the black background on the start of the video. I know you don’t support the Revolution Slider but if something pops into your head of something I am doing wrong or overlooking I would appreciate any input at all. This is driving me crazy! Thanks in advance!

Thanks for writing in! Clear the slider background settings to make it transparent.

Hi there,

You should ad poster image, the video loads quicker on my end. And please add this CSS to Admin > Appearance > Customizer > Custom > CSS to disable the black background.

.fullcoveredvideo video, .fullscreenvideo video {
    background: transparent !important;
}

Without poster/cover image, it will be transparent hence, what you’ll see is what behind it which is the black background.

OK, in an effort to do your recommendations I get this. The site is completely crashed and seeing as Cornerstone doesn’t support revisions I am at a loss as to what to do.

OK, due to my magical prowess at web design (where is my roll eyes emote?) 🙂 I was able to get the site back up. I deleted the slider and started all over. Created it again and that got the site up. It is just as I want it now except for that horrible black background on the video and nothing I do, or anything you have suggested makes it go away. As always thank you for you help!

Footnote: On my Backcountry Warriors site I have a transparent image with a logo for my cover photo. I have no video poster image set. This works perfectly as it shows the page background image with my logo until the video starts to play at which time in between there is no god awful black background on the video. I love this and for the life of me cannot recreate it. Also, I do not have that code you gave me in the CCS customizer. And one more thing. I thought there was maybe something amiss with the video so I recreated that in my video editor and re uploaded it. Still no Joy.

OMG! You are not going to believe this. An update showed up for the revolution slider. I did the update and that COMPLETELY fixed the problem! The video loads super fast now, with no black background etc. I jst spent the last week trying to get this figured out and it was just an update. UNREAL. Ha! Thanks so much for the help as always. Love the theme. 4 licenses so far and will be purchasing many more. One suggestion. A revision option is a must have! Please incorporate this asap into the theme. Thanks again for a great job!
