Jayd KParticipantHi there,
Just wanted to pick your brains for a moment. The past couple of websites I have tried to make live have some import issues. When I create a website on a temporary domain, and then want to ‘move’ everything to the root, I bascially export from the temp domain all of the pages in X and then reimport these into the root domain as pages. This has always been a good clean way of making websites live for me.
I export the content from the temp website, and then reimport using the WordPress Importer tool. This imports every page for me, along with the option of going into Cornerstone for me on each page to make edits if I need to.
However, the last two websites, once I have completed the import, the pages show the ‘Visual’ tab by default, and shows the code that Cornerstone has generated. If I try to click on the ‘Cornerstone’ tab – it displays a window saying ‘Hold up! The content has been modified outside of Cornerstone. Editing in Cornerstone will replace the current content. Do you wish to continue?’ Of course I do not want to do this, as then my page will be emptied of the code and I will lose all of my design work.
Why has this happened to me with the past two websites I have tried to export/reimport? How can I edit each page in Cornerstone without losing all of the work I have done on each page?
The temp domain is http://www.simplysignspreview.com/ambconstruction
The root domain (the one with the error) is : http://www.ambconstructionltd.co.uk/

Jayd KParticipantI have found a hack – saving the template from the temp domain, and uploading the template for that page into the new one. But surely this isnt the only way I can achieve importing Cornerstone code? It used to work fine before, so not sure what changed?

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for writing in! Saving as Cornerstone template and importing to another site is the best approach to import/transfer Cornerstone pages particularly. Beside this, you need to migrate the whole site.
Cheers!
