Sadira CParticipantHi there,
I’ve just got around to updating an older version of X via FTP to the most recent one, using the manual update instructions here: https://community.theme.co/kb/updating-your-theme-and-plugins/ (because my version doesn’t have X Addons so I can’t verify and update that way)
Once the switch was finished I imported the Customizer settings through X Addons > Customizer Manager, but my site displays a fatal error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function x_has_shortcode() in …/alexanderaustralia.com.au/wp-content/plugins/x-shortcodes/setup.php on line 109
I’ve also uploaded the new X – Child theme and have activated that instead of the old Integrity Light child theme. I didn’t have any custom CSS in that stylesheet. All the changes were made through the Customizer tool.
Is there any way to import my Customizer settings without the error? I’m really hoping I don’t have to manually go in and change everything back…
URL = http://www.alexanderaustralia.com.au (maintenance mode currently active)
Wordpress version = 4.6.1
X version = 4.6.4 (previous version = 1.8.3)
X – Child Theme version = 1.0.0 (previous version = X – Child Theme: Integrity Light 1.0.0)
Cornerstone plugin version = 1.3.3Thanks

Sadira CParticipantActually, I managed to fix the fatal error by deactivating the X – Shortcodes plugin, but it looks like the Customizer import was unsuccessful (none of my previous settings are showing up there after importing the .json file)
So yeah, would still like to know how I can import my previous settings!

RupokMemberHi there,
Perhaps you were using X Shortcodes before and it’s not same by now. Lots of settings has been added/changed within Customizer. So if you had a backup for very older version of X, it might not work as expected. Let us know a bit details about the previous version.
Thanks!

Sadira CParticipantYep the previous version was quite old – see above. I updated from 1.8.3

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Please deactivate and delete X Shortcodes 3.0.5 plugin. Please take note that X shortcodes 3.0.5 and its functionality has been consolidated into Cornerstone will be installed automatically once you activate X. If you are updating the theme, simply go to X addons and it will auto install the plugin.

Sadira CParticipantThanks, I deleted the X Shortcodes plugin and it helped a little bit, but there’s still a lot of customizer styling missing. I’ll add a private reply with the site details

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for updating in! You may have been experiencing PHP memory exhaustion. A loading screen would probably because you have exhausted your PHP memory limit. By default, WordPress will attempt to increase memory allocated to PHP to 40MB (code is at the beginning of /wp-includes/default-constants.php) for single site and 64MB for multisite, so the setting in wp-config.php should reflect something higher than 40MB or 64MB depending on your setup.
To increase your WP memory limit, please follow the instructions here:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
http://docs.woothemes.com/document/increasing-the-wordpress-memory-limit/I went ahead and I already increase your PHP memory limit. Please check your site again and let us know how it goes.

Sadira CParticipantThanks, increasing the PHP memory limit did the trick in enabling the VC. Still no luck on pulling the Customizer styling across to the updated theme though.
Do you think it’s possible? Or should I manually go into the customizer and add all the settings again? At the moment it looks quite different to how it’s supposed to!

FriechModeratorHi There,
Yes, that would be the safest way. A lot of things change on the Customizer since v1.8.3. I’m not saying its not compatible but you might need to re-set most of the settings if not all. So better configure the Customizer manually now so you’ll have it clean.
Thanks.
