I have 14 X-Theme-based sites in operation on one shared server, but only one is having this trouble: Suddenly, without doing anything, most of the site’s images are now broken. They are in the media library, but showing broken on each page. All images (logo, backgrounds, etc.) except blog posts and Envira Gallery (which is also loading slow now.) I started re-linking a few of the images on the homepage and the logo, and although those are now working, does of images are still broken.

I tried de-activating all of the plugins, then re-activating them one at a time, but it didn’t make any difference. The site is at http://www.cafesweetbasils.com. Thanks!

Oh yeah – I also updated WP, X, and all of the plugins (after discovering the problem.) Still nothing.

Thanks for writing in! Did you just migrate the site? Those missing images are requested from this domain: http://96.31.71.220/~angowl8 which is not accessible.

Is that domain ring a bell?

Yes, in the interim, I did figure out that I had initially developed the site under only its IP address. Then, when I pointed the domain name to it, it worked fine until sometime in the last few days. I contacted my host and they said that, for security reasons, they had blocked access via IP. Grrr. I requested that they lift the block, but I need to actually get all those errant image links changed to cafesweetbasils.com, instead of 96.31.71.220/~angowl8

Hi there,

You will need to properly migrate your site, otherwise Cornerstone will not work if you just change your site URLs through Settings -> General section within your WordPress backend.

Maybe I’m a little think, but I didn’t migrate the site. I simply added a domain name. It hasn’t been moved. So do I move it somewhere, then move it back?

I just ran WP Migrate DB, followed all the directions in the link you sent and no change …..

Hi There,

Cornerstone uses an absolute link, so even if you did change your site URL it will still request the images in the original URL when it was added to the page. Maybe it did work before because the 96.31.71.220/~angowl8 is still accessible.

You can save your Cornerstone pages as template (.csl file) and then open that file on a text editor (notepad++, sublime, etc.) and do a find and replace.

find http://96.31.71.220/~angowl8 and replace with http://cafesweetbasils.com

Note, that this will only work on Cornerstone pages. Images that is on the header, footer, and sidebar needs to be reset manually.

Or if you’re comfortable doing the process of changing the URL provided here: https://community.theme.co/kb/cornerstone-migration/ that would be much better.
