Sebastien MParticipantI need to migrate a website from development phase to production phase and… When i move the site from the dev location to the live domain. All the links are still pointing to the dev environment and i need to update them by hand every time. There must be an easier way. Any suggestion. Ive tried search and replace. Better sear and replace but both of the solution work for certain area. Links are still pointing to the old domain. Any help would make my life much easier…
Thanks

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for writing in! You can follow our Migration guide.
To just update the links, you can use a plugin like “Better Search Replace”.
Cheers!

Paul RModeratorHi,
Kindly try the migration again using this plugin – Duplicator
I have tested it in many test sites and it always work.
Thanks

Sebastien MParticipantI dont get how duplicator works… Is it a bit like better search and replace…
January 2, 2017 at 3:01 am #1312329
Rue NelModeratorHello There,
The Duplicator plugin gives WordPress administrators the ability to migrate, copy or clone a site from one location to another. The plugin also serves as a simple backup utility. Duplicator supports both serialized and base64 serialized string replacement. If you need to move WordPress or backup WordPress this plugin can help simplify the process.
This is not the same as Better Search and Replace where it is only for search and replace for a keyword within your site.
Hope this explains it.
