I just updated to 4.5 and had been holding back from updating because the last time I did so my website had to be redone. I updated yesterday, and if you look at wwww.garrettandwalker.com, you’ll see what happened. I run a child theme and everything is all over the place. I activated the regular theme and it looked better, but still did not function properly. Please help.

I’ve read through the documentation but I’m trying to figure out what to do still. The documentation is not very clear on step by step how to update ethos-child. Thank you for your help.

Try this:
Rename your Old Child Theme folder CHILD-OLD
Upload the new child theme
copy any files you have made changes inside to the new folder, if you have not made any changes just dont worry about.
Back up your old child theme folder on your computer for precaution.
Load the website again and select the newly update child theme.
** You might want to backup your Customizer settings as well in any case at Wp-Admin Dashboard Customizer Manager, just to be extra sure.
I guess that is easier than making changes on the file.
