[Good_Usernames_Gone]

Hey Staff,

In the early days when I first purchased Theme-Co (and wasn’t too sure what I was doing with web pages) I think I must have deleted my Integrity Blog/News page by accident (the one that came with X-Theme.)

I remember seeing and opening it back then and putting it to one side for later use.

I’ve gone to use it today and it’s disappeared and I can only assume I’ve deleted it by accident (it is not in my WordPress trash folder, I have emptied it’s contents a couple of times since) one evening after drinking home brew. (Not such a good idea in hindsight)

Is there any chance you could send me the page or a link so I can add it to my web site.

Please create an empty page and set it as blog page under Settings -> Reading.

Hi,

Please note that if the page is set as a blog page it is no longer editable in cornerstone. It will be automatically populated by your posts.

I tried editing your homepage in cornerstone and it seems to be working fine.

Hey Staff,

I’m still unable to edit my Blog page and maybe I am misunderstanding you previous email to me.

Let me give you the ‘bigger picture’ that may help!.

1.) I want to trial using the Cornerstone Blog page NOT for blogging, but more like a ***NEWS PAGE***

2.) Customers will email me news about their radiology sites and I will copy & paste them into the nicely laid out Cornerstone Blog TEMPLATE as it looks like it will serve this purpose well.

3.) I’m unable to make changes to the blog page (attached again below) as I am unable to see the components to click and add my text areas, gaps, counters etc.

All my other Cornerstone pages are working fine, just not the blog for Copy & Paste NEWS Page idea.

Your thoughts again please?

Hello There,

Thank you for the clarification.
When a page is set as BLOG page, it can’t be edited using Cornerstone. Blog page display is controlled by template by default. If you want to gain control and edit it using Cornerstone, we have to remove this page from Settings > Reading > Front page displays > Post Page.

Hi there,

Your home page is blog page according to your settings under Settings -> Reading. Blog page generates content automatically base on number of posts you have and it’s not editable with cornerstone or anyother editors.

If you select ‘A static page’ option then you should select which page should display as home page and which one should be blog page.

As you said you want to :

use it for simple copy and pasting of news articles, NOT as a true Blog Page

In this case you don’t need to select a blog page under Settings -> Reading. Just create a normal page and add cornerstone elements there and call it blog page.
