ezioberteParticipantHi all, I have just moved our site from a local installation (WAMP) to a test environment via WP Duplicator. I changed the associated URLs in the Themeco license management page and now I can not validate the license for our test environment.
If I click on details I get this:
array(6) {
[“headers”]=>
object(Requests_Utility_CaseInsensitiveDictionary)#1934 (1) {
[“data”:protected]=>
array(4) {
[“date”]=>
string(29) “Tue, 30 Aug 2016 08:41:18 GMT”
[“server”]=>
string(58) “Apache/2.4.16 (Unix) OpenSSL/1.0.1e-fips mod_bwlimited/1.4”
[“content-length”]=>
string(3) “491”
[“content-type”]=>
string(29) “text/html; charset=iso-8859-1”
}
}
[“body”]=>
string(491) ”Not Found

Any hint? Thanks in advance for your support.

RupokMemberHi Pietro,
Make sure to revoke the existing license for your localhost unless you have validated as development environment. Kindly remove the site from Themeco license page and add again. If you still face any issue; provide your WordPress credentials and purchase code in a private reply.
Cheers!

Rue NelModeratorHey Pietro,
Thanks for the very detailed information. I have tested validating your site and I can confirm the message “Uh oh, we couldn’t check if this license was valid.” displaying on the page. It seems the error message is related to SSL, your PHP configuration may not be configured properly. We would advise contacting your host about this.
Using the error message above, you can contact your webhost. Here is a form letter you may use:
Hello [provider], My WordPress installation is having a hard time making outbound HTTP requests. I’m using X theme and it makes a request to community.theme.co for setting up automatic updates. Could you please do the following? – Ensure my site can reach this domain: community.theme.co – Ensure cURL is working, and allow_url_fopen is enabled. – Ensure PHP is configured with the latest CA Root Certificates. – Check into the error message above. Please advise on anything you discover. Thank you.For more troubleshooting issues, please check out our knowledge base:

ezioberteParticipantHi Rue Nel
Thanks a lot for the feedback.
We did a bit of research on our side too and we are currently considering moving the website onto an external hosting. The server we are using at the moment hosts several services and applications with a lot of security protocols and we want our new website to run smoothly.
Either way, I will let you know how it goes.
Talk soon

AlexanderKeymasterHi again Pietro,
Thank you for your patience while we look into this issue. As the issue has come up a number of times, we’ve done a larger investigation and have posted an update here:

mattrilla2ParticipantHi Guys,
I noticed this wasn’t fully resolved. I build my own servers and this is occurring with newer installations that have swapped to PHP 7 (in my case it’s on Ubuntu 16.04). The solution, as mentioned above is to ensure the hosting company has added cUrl to the set up. It’s easily missed.
For you sysadmins out there::
apt-get install php7.0-curl
Doesn’t apply to servers running PHP 5 🙂

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for sharing this information. We really appreciate as it this could help others having trouble with their own installations.
Cheers.
