I am new to X and themes and have trouble understanding how to install renew-5 theme as default. Have installed demo content, but have fund no way to create home page etc. When opening the site, Renew-5 is not the home page. Think I might have been doing foolish mistakes, happy for all help to get the theme installed in a proper way. 🙂

Guess it is the right theme, but even if demo content is loaded, theme does not seem to reflect this. This is theme:

Thanks! I have read this several times without getting any wiser. Now I understand I need the extended demo, but this theme is only in standard demo mode as far as I understand. The expanded demo will fine, but how to enter the extended mode for this theme?

Still unsure how to ‘install’ the theme so you find the Home page amongst the other pages in admin backend. Guess this way of thinking is one of the X assets, but to a newbe it is a bit intimidating 🙂

Hope to get some further help setting this up.

Hi There,

I guess you are overthinking 🙂

You can install standard or expanded demos on the same place.

You need to login to your wordpress /wp-admin/ than you have among that tabs the tab ADDONS

Once you are there you can select any demo standard or expanded.

I am sending you a screenshot for you to make it more clear.

Of course you need to have X Theme Already Installed to do that.

If you are facing any issues please provide details about what stage you are stuck.

I have X installed and try to explain my issue:

1. Gravity-5 theme, installed demo content. Thought that will give an installed theme just like the one I did choose

2. After demo content installed, it has only placeholders

I need some content to work with, not creating from scratch.

So I understand I need to install the expanded demo to retain what I call the content with text and images etc. In th admin section X addon I find oly three expanded demo, no instructions to make the chosen theme renew-5 exdpanded. Feel a bit slow, but but that is how it is …

I have also a problem understanding how ‘Home’ page is created. Normally I am used to install a theme and start with a Home page that comes with the theme, with the full content ready to edit and work with. That page is also to be found as a normal page in the page director.
May be I belong to stone age, and should avoid such fancy stuff ?:-) Feel so no….

Hi!

Changed my mind after the info above. Installed ‘Spa’with demo content. Looks exellent in browser. Thought problem was overcome. Did find the Demo-Home page, and started editing in Cornerstone. What a disappointment 🙁 Now we are back to placeholders, all content gone.

Is it so that it is no way to edit directly to the template choosen, but only editing the placeholders – like starting more or less from scratch?
