I was wondering how to create demo content like pages, posts and portfolio items etc… exactly like the standard demos provided (without manually creating them individually).

I have gone through the demo article here > https://community.theme.co/kb/demo-content/ however, the article seems contradictory as it leads me to believe it is possible, yet not on the other hand.

Under paragraph titled ’Standard’, it says, “If you select to import posts, a blog will be setup for you, and importing portfolio items will similarly setup a portfolio page for you.”

I have looked for this, but there seems to be no option. Am I missing something here?

Whilst further down the article, it states under the paragraph titled ‘Comparison’… “While Standard demo content simply provides you with a homepage setup with placeholder content and images, …”.

(Thats, what Im getting).

So my question is:
Is it possible to create a standard demo theme complete with pages, post, portfolio items?
or
is it now just providing the home page and customiser settings only?

I believe it is the later option, however, I just want to double check with the experts, before I go pulling my hair out thinking I am overlooking something here.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in and we apologize for the confusion. There isn’t currently an option for this right now. We did have it in the past. We have sent in a note to our dev team so we can clarify the change. If the options was intentionally removed, we will update our docs. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we really appreciate our user’s feedback.

So to answer your question, as of right now the standard demos will only import the home page and customizer settings only.

Thought so.
Just was a little confused. When I first got X, I was able to download demo content – Way before the Expanded demos were available.
Just would have been handy for a concept design to show a new client we have.

All good, by the time you had replied back, I had built the site similar to the demo one we were looking at.

Hi there,

We have sent this to our developers as we mentioned in previous replay.
For the time being you can create portfolio page by changing page’s template to ‘portfolio’.
Also select your blog page from Settings -> Reading.

Hi and great job on the theme:
I need some help please: (I feel the same as previous post)
I bought the theme because of this demo http://theme.co/x/demo/integrity/1/

I thought I will be able to upload it and have that site to modify; now I understand the standard versus the expanded,
Is there an easy way to have that site as expanded even if we pay more?
I was having a hard time putting together, I bought the video as explained followed these instructions but it didn’t work
I loaded the standard demo and even imported the x-demo-content through the WordPress importer
It looks something very different.

Yes, as explained above. The surfer girl is not part of an Expanded Demo (it is a Standard Demo) and in those the creatives are not included (they are in the Expanded ones). Please refer to our demo page to see which is which. If you specifically want the girl surfing video, that can be purchased at the link above

Hi Sam!

We do not offer Expanded demo for the Integrity one, but we will be more than happy to look after you and help you trough the process of achieve the layout you are looking for.

Please setup your Slider Revolution with a video background with the video you purchased.

The slider type you will select Hero Slider.

Than once you are on your home page, click Edit page on your admin bar and scroll down until you find Slider Above Masthead and select it.

This should do the job. Regarding the texts and animations on the video you can do it your self it is not really complex but it would require the you study a bit Slider Revolution in order to understand how the plugin works, in my opinion the best way is to watch some recent Slider Revolution Tutorials on youtube( Watch recent ones because the plugin changed a lot trough time).

Other option that I guess would fit you even better is to download a slider demo from Slide Revolution website and than import to your slider. After that you can tweak it a bit to change the content and put your video on the background and follow the same instructions above, again I think it is important to watch some tutorials so you can feel comfortable while working whit Slider Revolution.
