    Hi there,

I just fixed some 404-errors on my page and discovered with the dead link checker, that there are 4 remaining “404 not found” in X:

    1) https://fonts.googleapis.com/ link/href

    2) /wp-content/themes/x/framework/framework/img/global/ilightbox-thumb-overlay-play-light.png style: .ilightbox-thumbnails.light .ilightbox-thumbnails-grid .ilightbox-thumbnail .ilightbox-thumbnail-video

    3) /wp-content/themes/x/framework/css/dist/site/stacks/closedhand.cur style: .ilightbox-closedhand *

    4) /wp-content/themes/x/framework/css/framework/img/global/ilightbox-preloader-light.gif style: .ilightbox-loader.light div

What is there to do? I don’t know what these 404s are about and how to handle or fix them.
My WordPress, theme and plugins are all updated.

    Some help would be great.
    Regards, Karen

    Hey there,

Please give us the URL where you see the error. There’s no error in your homepage.

    Thanks.

    Hi Christian,

I used two ways to veryfy my 404s and got similar data:
    #1 was http://www.deadlinkchecker.com/
#2 was the WordPress Redirection-Plugin (which reports even more wp-content 404 issues)

    Regards, Karen

I see. I’ve investigated further and it’s not an issue with X but rather there might be an issue with your setup. Regarding https://fonts.googleapis.com/, there is this code in your site

    <link rel='dns-prefetch' href='//fonts.googleapis.com' />

That code is not part of X.

The rest of the errors might be an error with your tool since their looking in the wrong directory.

    https://www.hartig-coacht.de/wp-content/themes/x/framework/css/framework/img/global/ilightbox-preloader-light.gif

Your tool might not be compatible with WordPress sites or advanced themes.

    Thanks.

    Hi Christian,

thanks for checking! That sounds fine. As long as the site has no error 🙂
Concerning that thing with fonts.google.apis I researched a little too. This DNS prefetch code was added by WP four months ago. It doesn’t seem to cause any problems.

    Great, thanks a lot!

You’re welcome and yes, it won’t cause a problem. 🙂
