brettbumParticipantI got the dreaded “An error occurred while updating X: Update package not available.”
This is running on a client site. They need auto updates to work. Running manual updates is beyond them.
How can I get this fixed so that they can use autoupdates? (I’ve seen other threads on similar topics. They suggest doing a manual update, but we bought the theme license so that we COULD do auto updates!!! 🙂 )
– The license is newly validated.
– have similar auto update issues with Cornerstone, ConvertBug and Revslider plugins
ex. “An error occurred while updating Cornerstone: Update package not available.”
– running WordPress 4.5.3 running X theme. via WPEngineAugust 26, 2016 at 12:27 pm #1148525
brettbumParticipantoh and we are trying to update from 4.4.2 to 4.6.1 🙂

RahulModeratorHey Rob,
Can you please revalidate your website by revoking the licence from your WordPress dashboard and your themeco dashboard and adding them again?
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks.

Still did not work.

brettbumParticipantlet me know if there was something that I did incorrect in the process? 🙂

brettbumParticipanthmmmm
seems to be two processes
There is the ‘validation’ process, which also has the jargon of ‘verifying’ the license. Clicking on the buttons as I did in the video above sends me from my wordpress page to the theme.co profile page.
This apparently does nothing?
Then there is also a revocation button somewhere below the manage licenses button. revoking the license there does something else within the wordpress section, which did allow me then to ‘re-validate’ and now the auto updates ARE working! 🙂
Would love to see some documentation updates for anyone that follows in the future as a new customer. Would have saved me an hour and your help / support people time too!

RahulModeratorThanks for the feedback. Much appreciated!
You can even install an upgraded version manually via FTP. Follow this documentation for that.

Thanks.
