JoaoModeratorHi there,
First you need to upload your Favicon to your media library and copy the URL, you can also upload via FTP, it is just important that you know the URL.
Please add favicon under Appereance > Customizer > Site Icons.
When setting the path to your favicon, make sure you are using the “.ico” format.A 152×152 PNG should be used for your touch icon, and a 144×144 PNG should be used for your tile icon.
Here is a more detailed step by step:
1. Create a favicon to your taste and save as .ico file to your PC hard drive (youricon.ico)
2. Use your preferred ftp application (I like filezilla) to login to your website. You will require the information: Host, Username, Password and Port.
Host should be set to http://ftp.yoursite.com (yoursite.com will be replace by your website URL) and port set to 21. Username and password can be obtained from your website host. Contact your host if you do not know these variables or for further help setting up your ftp client.
3. Once logged in, you should now see a list of folders in you site such as: .appdata .cpanel .trash public_ftp public_html etc.
4. Using your ftp client, navigate through the folders of you site to: public_html/wp-content
5. (Optional) Use your ftp client (filezilla) to create a folder eg: uploadimages
6. Transfer your icon file (youricon.ico) from your PC hard drive into the chosen folder on your website.
7. You should now have a site structure something like: /public_html/wp-content/uploadimages/youricon.ico
8. Log out of your ftp client
9. Login to WordPress and enter your appearance customizer. Scroll down to site icons.
10. You will see Favicon (set path to image below)
11. Enter the following path: http://www.yoursite.com/wp-content/uploadimages/youricon.ico
12. Save your work.
13. Exit the customizer and refresh any site page.
14. Your new site favicon should be visible.Hope it helps.
