Sharpy01ParticipantHi there,
I am a noob to php and am using x-theme for the first time. I am using the “Renew” stack and would like my header to look like the attached mockup.
I have been searching through the forum and have found several references to different snippets of code, but have yet to find something that will work for me.
I have created a child theme and understand how to modify the theme to protect the desired template changes from future updates.
What I am attempting to do is add 4 widget areas below the topbar and above the logo and other header content. I do not wish to user the “header widget area” at this time, but would like to have it available to me in the future.
As mentioned in the topic I would also like to add a “tagline” below the logo, but have not even attempted that yet. Rather than create another post, I am hopeful that we can deal with both challenges here. Is that possible.
The code snippets I have pieced together from multiple forum threads is likely very messy so rather than post it publicly, I will attach it to the post so that readers do not get confused by the solution and my attempts.
As you read the modifications I made to the functions.php file in the x-child theme, you will see that so far registered my widget areas. As of right now, I can populate the widget areas but when I do the output removes all page content below my customizations, so now all that shows is the line of text in the topbar and the text widget in the “topheader widget area.
Thanks in advance for your help, in the meantime I will create login credentials for your support team and place them in a private reply below my initial post.

ChristianModeratorHey there,
Regretfully those aren’t features offered by X. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities. Thanks for understanding. Take care!

Sharpy01ParticipantI was hoping for a little more than that

ChristopherModeratorHey there,
Thanks for writing in! Regretfully, this particular customization request is outside the scope of our support as this is not related to an issue with the theme and instead has to do with your customization of it. As such, you will need to investigate this particular issue on your own or seek help from a developer should you not feel comfortable making these changes yourself. If you have any further questions about the theme, we are more than happy to provide you with assistance on these inquiries.
Thank you for your understanding.
