Hi, I’m trying to build a community website and am not really finding that bbPress meets my needs. I’m interested in using https://xenforo.com/ (as it’s used for one of my favorite websites), but am not sure about how it will integrate with WordPress or X Theme (or if I even need WordPress if I go with something like that). I’ve already purchased X Theme, but am wondering if this is really what I need to achieve my goals. I’m now thinking I want to possibly go with a full-forum website (like http://www.testyourmight.com), though I suppose with X-Theme, I could achieve something closer to http://shoryuken.com/ which has a striking home page, but also a deep community structure (http://forums.shoryuken.com/).

I’m sorry there’s not much of a question in there; I’m just confused and frustrated that I can’t seem to find any information on how to achieve my goals. If you have any advice, I would very much appreciate it. My site’s url is http://www.streamauthority.com. Thanks!

That is a function not included out of the box with X. That can either be achieved by a plugin or custom development. Regretfully, implementing it falls outside the scope of our support. Hi,

There are already some add-ons for xenforo that integrate xenforo with wordpress, like this:

I think there is also another one that is free, by xfrocks (one of developers there)

Also this site (http://www.testyourmight.com) is using this theme (https://xenforo.com/community/resources/quark.1101/)
Also for their home page, their are using an add-on of xenforo called “xenporta” that you can find it here:
https://xenforo.com/community/resources/8wayrun-com-xenporta-2-portal-pro.3894/
They are not using wordpress at all. You can get all you see there, by add-ons of xenforo.

So I’ve made a ton of progress, and almost have the design I want. The only issue I’m having now is how to customize the WordPress Toolbar. I’ve managed to remove everything from it except the user’s name, as seen here:

I’m trying to get an effect like what http://www.testyourmight.com uses:

So in order to achieve that effect, I just need to add an icon for messages/conversations that drops down when hovered over, I need to change the icon for notifications and move it to the far right, and I want to put the user’s icon to the left of their username instead of the right. I have BuddyPress set up, so the links/pages exist, I just need to know how to get them to appear in the WordPress Toolbar in the order that I want.

Finally, I have the toolbar set to appear for unregistered members so that they can easily register or log in. However, these options appear in the left margin; I’d like them to appear in the right margin.

If anyone can help me achieve those changes, I will love you forever!
