Hi, I will be using a manually created page using cornerstone for my blog page rather than the default option (via settings>reading) which I find very restricted for editing (given my novice coding knowledge).

I have a couple of questions I’d like advise on please:

    1. If I create my blog page using the ‘recent posts’ shortcode, do I have to insert multiple rows of ‘recent posts’ shortcode each with increasing ‘offset’ settings in order to display multiple posts.

    2. How will visitors view older posts? Is there a shortcode for archived posts? Do I have to create a new page specifically for archived posts?

Sorry if this all sounds novice but it’s something I’m really unsure about and will become important as the number of posts increases once we launch.

    Hi there,

#1 Yes, recent posts element displays at most four posts, you need to add multiple recent posts elements and set offset.

#2 No there isn’t shortcode for archive page. You can add a custom link after recent posts element and navigate users to real archive page.

    e.g :

    <a href="#">read more posts</a>

    Hope it helps.

That all makes sense. So for the real archive page, do I have to manually create a page with tonnes of ‘recent posts’ shortcodes with offsets or does wordpress/X have a default archive page? Sorry if this is all super amateur, I’m still getting to grips with some of this.

    Thanks

X has an archive page. Please see https://community.theme.co/kb/customizer-blog/ to learn the setup options. Please take note that in Settings > Reading, you need to set your Front page display to Your latest posts or create a Blog page and set it as your Posts page.

    Thanks.
