anwantiParticipantWhen i apply a demo to my new word press site the demo applies with only the home page linked in the navigation bar and not to the blog and portfolio. I’ve was following instructions on a video of how to apply X in the version being demonstrated there were 2 check boxes to select weather you wanted to import the blog and portfolio and on the version I downloaded last week these check boxes are no longer there.
This is the first time i’m using X and i’m a newbie to Web development and WordPress, your help documentation is very vague to me and I don’t know what to do.
my test site is at: http://176.32.230.50/anilmistrytrainingdomain.co/wordpress/
Please help
kind regards

FriechModeratorHi Anil,
Thanks for writing in! Yes, standard demo will only import a home page. While the expanded demo will import everything. However if you want those demo posts and portfolio items on the standard demo, you can download the x_package from your ThemeForest account download page, this package contain a file named x-demo-content.xml which you can import using the WordPress importer, that is on your admin dashboard under Tools > Import.
Hope it helps, Cheers!

stuartgtParticipantHi
I’ve got the same problem as Anil. I’ve followed the steps in your answer above and I see no difference on the demo page. I’m using X and Renew5 as a part of an Udemy course from Rob Percival and was really hoping to see the Blog and Portfolio pages appear below the home page.
Any easy way to do that as you could to prior to v4.4 (I think)?
Many thanks!
Regards
Stuart

Rue NelModeratorHey @eaglesfan1,
Thanks for updating this thread! Just for future topics, self responding or bumping your post pushes it back in our Queue system so it takes longer to respond to.
To assign a blog page, you need to create a page entitled “Blog”. You can then assign this page as your “Posts Page” in Settings > Reading > Front Page Displays

For more details about this, please check out the codex: https://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page#Creating_a_Static_Front_Page
To know how to create or manage your menu items, please check this link:

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
Please note that standard demos import home page content.
You need to add blog and portfolio pages your self.
To assign a blog page, you need to create a page entitled “Blog”. You can then assign this page as your “Posts Page” in Settings > Reading > Front Page Displays. For portfolio page, create a page and change its template to portfolio.
To add new pages to primary menu, check this link :http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-add-navigation-menu-in-wordpress-beginners-guide/Hope that helps.
